20 teams to represent India at the World Robot Olympiad, scheduled to take place at Doha, Qatar from 6th to 8th November 2015
NEW DELHI / BENGALURU, India – September 28, 2015 – India Stem Foundation (ISF) organized the tenth edition of Indian Robot Olympiad (IRO) 2015, the annual national level robotics championship in collaboration with National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Maruti Suzuki and DLF along with support from District Administration on 26th and 27th of September 2015 at Epicentre, Gurgaon. There were around 709 students participating in this event.
The Indian Robot Olympiad is held in five categories elementary level, junior high, senior high, open and ROBOT Soccer GEN II. To showcase their talent and creativity teams from over 225 different schools across India participated and the two winning teams from each category will get to represent India in the World Robot Olympiad to be held in Qatar from November 6th -8th 2015.
‘Robo Kids’ from Bengaluru topped the elementary level category, ‘The Knights’ team from Mumbai topped the Junior school category and in High school ‘Dark Dinos’ from Delhi topped the list. In open category Knowtillus ‘Path Finders’ from Mumbai were the toppers and in the fifth category that was ROBOT Soccer GEN II ‘Lionel Messi’ from Delhi created and programmed robot to solve complex challenges.
